HTE PRODUCTS

Our product begins and ends with meeting your specific requirements.  After careful review, our thermal and mechanical engineers custom design just the right shell and tube heat exchanger to meet your needs.  We stand behind every product with our in-house warranty after your exchanger is placed into service.

You have read about our company, people, quality, and safety in other areas of our website, let's talk more about how our products are manufactured.

Our mechanical drawings and drafting are completed in-house according to ASME Code and TEMA standards.  ASME code establishes minimum requirements of design, construction, and testing.  Notable applications of Sect VIII, Div 1., Cylinders, heads, etc. – UG-27, 28, 32, 33, 34, Nozzles and other openings – UG-36 to 46, Flat or Dished bolted covers– UG-34, Custom flanges, Jackets and end closures, Flanged-and-flued expansion joints, Bellows expansion joints, Tubesheets and tube bundles – UHX, and Requirements for welding – UW (also Sect IX).

We use FEA based software for accurate stress evaluations of heat exchangers with complex geometries such as Flanged-and-Flued expansion joints and loadings of connections from Paulin Research Group – TEMA Flexible Shell Element Software and FE 107.

We perform a wide variety of pressure retention calculations on our heat exchangers from ASME Sect. VIII Div. 1, TEMA, supplementary calculations such as WRC-107/297, Zick, ASCE-7, and others with virtually limitless configurations using COADE/Intergraph - PV Elite and CodeCalc.

We perform destructive & non-destructive testing such as Hardness Tests (Brinell, Microdur), Hydrostatic, Magnetic Particle, T-Gage Readings, Dye Penetrant, Tensile & Compression, Elevated Temperature, Bend Tests, Chemical Analysis, Impact Tests (Low Temp), Micro Hardness Analysis, Tube Weld Push Test, Radiograph, Positive Material Identification, Ultrasonic, and Wet Fluorescent.

Our Quality Inspection Department is qualified to ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) Level II with One Beacon Insurance (formerly Commercial Union) as our authorized inspection agency for CODE compliance.

Our typical initial approval documents include Mechanical Calculations, Outline Dimensional Drawing and applicable supporting drawings, Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specifications with Procedure Qualification Records (WPS/PQR).  Our typical, complete design approval documents include complete detail drawings, complete bill of material, and non-destructive examination procedures (NDE). Changes from the customer are promptly addressed by HTE.  Design impact is evaluated by Engineering and passed to project manager and Sales for cost and scheduling impact evaluation. This information is relayed to the customer in a timely manner appropriate to the urgency of the change. Final documentation is provided in our Data-book package which includes a code data report, as-built information or drawings, NDE test results, and any additional information upon request such as Mechanical calculations, Process Data Sheet, WPS/PQR’s, NDE procedures, Complete Detail Drawings, Bill of Material, and Material Test Reports labeled by part number.
